When something goes wrong, waiting isn't an option. Call us first and we'll do everything we can to see you the same day.

A dental emergency is any situation where pain, damage, or sudden oral health change can't wait for a routine appointment. Think: a cracked tooth, a severe toothache, a lost crown, a knocked-out tooth, or an infection that's getting worse by the hour. At My Favorite Dentist, Dr. Rafa understands that emergencies don't schedule themselves, and he does his best to accommodate same-day appointments for patients who need immediate care. Getting you out of pain quickly is the priority, but it's never the whole story, Dr. Rafa addresses the underlying cause so the same problem doesn't come back.If you're in pain or dealing with sudden damage to your smile, don't wait. Call the practice first and we'll take it from there.

A dental emergency handled quickly is almost always less complicated, and often less expensive, than one that's left to wait. Here's why getting in as soon as possible matters:
The primary goal of emergency dental care is to get you out of pain as quickly and effectively as possible. Dr. Rafa prioritizes same-day care for patients in acute discomfort. No one should have to suffer through a dental emergency longer than necessary.
Many dental emergencies worsen significantly if left untreated. A crack can deepen, an infection can spread, a lost restoration can expose vulnerable tooth structure to further damage. Prompt treatment stops the problem from becoming a bigger one.
Emergency care at My Favorite Dentist doesn't just address the immediate problem, but sets you up with a plan for whatever follow-up treatment is needed. You'll leave knowing exactly what happened, what was done, and what comes next.

My Favorite Dentist is equipped with a 3D intraoral scanner and CBCT imaging for 3D X-rays, diagnostic advancements that give Dr. Rafa a complete picture of your oral health from the very first visit. Better information means better care, every time.

Dr. Rafa chose this community deliberately, and he's here to stay. He takes the time to know his patients, not just their charts, and holds himself to the kind of standard that turns first-time patients into lifelong ones.

A toothache severe enough to disrupt your day — or your sleep — is your mouth telling you something needs attention now. At My Favorite Dentist, Dr. Rafa uses digital X-rays and thorough examination to diagnose the source of the pain accurately and quickly. Whether it's deep decay, a cracked tooth, or an infection, he'll identify the cause and address it directly — not just manage the symptoms. If you're dealing with pain that won't quit, call us. Same-day appointments are available for patients in acute discomfort.

A cracked or broken tooth may need attention quickly. What could have been a straightforward restoration can become a more complex one. Dr. Rafa will evaluate the extent of the damage, stabilize the tooth, and recommend the most conservative treatment that addresses it fully, whether that's a filling, a crown, or another solution. Don't wait to see if it gets better on its own. Call the expert.

A lost crown or filling can expose the underlying tooth structure to bacteria, temperature sensitivity, and further damage, and it may need to be addressed promptly. Dr. Rafa will assess the tooth, address any underlying issues, and restore the protection as quickly as possible. In the meantime, if a crown has come off, keep it safe and bring it to your appointment, in some cases it can be recemented.

A dental infection can be one of the most urgent situations in dentistry, left untreated, an abscess can spread beyond the tooth and become a serious health concern. If you're experiencing significant swelling, throbbing pain, fever, or a visible bump on your gum, call us immediately. Dr. Rafa will evaluate the infection, recommend the appropriate treatment, and ensure you have what you need to begin addressing it right away. This is not a situation to manage with over-the-counter pain relief and hope for the best.

A knocked-out tooth is a genuine dental emergency, and time can play a critical factor. If a permanent tooth has been knocked out, handle it by the crown, not the root, rinse it gently without scrubbing, and try to keep it moist — either in milk or held between your cheek and gum. Then call us immediately. The sooner Dr. Rafa can evaluate and attempt to reimplant the tooth, the better the outcome. Every minute counts.

A dental emergency handled quickly is almost always less complicated, and often less expensive, than one that's left to wait. Here's why getting in as soon as possible matters:
When you arrive, Dr. Rafa conducts a thorough evaluation — using digital X-rays and clinical examination to get the full picture of what's happening and why. Understanding the source of the problem accurately is what allows him to treat it effectively, not just temporarily.
Once the diagnosis is clear, Dr. Rafa addresses the immediate problem, relieving pain, stabilizing damage, or treating infection, with the same precision and care he brings to every procedure. He works efficiently without cutting corners, because a dental emergency resolved properly the first time is one you don't have to come back for.
Before you leave, Dr. Rafa will walk you through exactly what was done and what follow-up treatment, if any, is recommended. Some emergencies are fully resolved in a single visit, others require additional care to address the underlying cause completely. Either way, you'll leave with a clear plan and a doctor who has your best interests at the center of every recommendation.
